Teaching Philosophy

I am very passionate about education and teaching. I believe educators, especially primary school teachers, play an extremely important role in society. Primary school is where people learn the fundamental skills in order to cope in every day life; for instance, children learn how to read, write, and do mathematics. In addition to developing literacy and numeracy skills, primary school is also a place where children develop social skills; and thus, primary teachers also aid in the socialisation process of children too. With an education, many great things can be achieved. It can also relieve those from poverty or a low socio-economic status by giving people the necessary skills to have a successful career. An education can make the future bright for many. I think teaching is a privilege that also comes with tremendous responsibility. I think teachers should aspire be knowledgable, passionate, creative, fair, caring, organised, and responsible. Furthermore, teaching is also an ever learning process. Although a teacher is a teacher, they should never stop being a learner.
